WordPress Multisite is a feature it has that allows you to create and manage multiple websites from a single WordPress installation.
Standard wordPress gives you control over one website, but Multisite allows for as many sites as you like with each site being able to share files, themes and plugins. You can also have admin privileges over all the sites as well.

You are going to want to use Multisite when you own multiple websites, or have sites that share similar functions or branding.
If you do not yet have a wordPress site, download wordPress and enable it for “multisite”. Otherwise, if you have sites already you can configure them from the dashboard as well.
From your host log into cPanel, and install WordPress and make sure you check box to enable Multisite.
Create as many websites as you like through your super-admin privileges.

One neat feature is that you can download a plugin once, and then all you have to do is activate it in the sites in which you want it.
Multisite is a powerful tool, but is does make things a bit more complicated which requires closer attention.
Since all sites share the same host, increased traffic on one can potentially slow down your entire network.
If something becomes compromised on your multisite, it can put all your sites at risk.
With the many updates that happen with plugins, its important to note that certain updates, or features may cause glitches or interuptions on one site and not the other, so it leaves room for those types of hiccups to occur.
